Dr Lionel Lim

Dr Lionel Lim has been a medical oncologist based at Ringwood Private Hospital since 2005. He graduated from Monash University in 1996 and completed Physician training in 2002. His advanced training in medical oncology was undertaken at the Royal Melbourne and St Vincent’s Hospitals as well as a research fellow year at Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. He has published research papers in the area of colorectal and gastric cancers. Between 2005-2009, he completed a postgraduate research degree (MD, Uni Melb) at the Ludwig Institute of Cancer Research in the area of serum-based biomarker development for the detection of colorectal cancer.
Since 2005 he has been in private practice at Ringwood Private Hospital, and also holds a public appointment in the oncology unit at Eastern Health (Maroondah Hospital). Lionel has a keen interest in tumours of the gastrointestinal tract (colon, rectum, pancreas, gastric, oesophagus) and lung cancers but also cares for patients with a broad range of solid tumour types. He regularly attends several cancer multidisciplinary meetings at Knox and Ringwood Private Hospitals (gastrointestinal, lung).
